A Kenya National Examinations Council KNEC examiner in English Paper 2 has died from a road accident minutes before reaching her home.
The Assistant Chief Examiner (ACE) by the name Jane Owino left Alliance Boys High School on Thursday after the marking exercise. She successfully boarded the Easy Coach bus to Ahero in Kisumu County.
On arrival at Ahero Junction, the teacher alighted and decided to head to a nearby hotel for a cup of tea before going home.
On crossing the road, she was hit by a moving vehicle and lost her life.

The ACE Examiner gave Last Speech in Jovial Mood
Other examiners present at Alliance Boys marking center said Jane Owino gave her speech in a jovial mood before leaving. Those present applauded her as she said bye.
No one knew that the 2019 KCSE Marking exercise would be her last.
The death of Jane Owino, the English Paper 2 examiner, is the second in less than a week after the nation lost a Biology Paper 1 examiner at Lenana High School.
The teacher at Lenana collapsed at the venue and was rushed to Kikuyu Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
3 Examiners Lost During the 2019 KNEC Examinations Marking Exercise
This year has seen KNEC lose a total of 3 examiners including a KCPE examiner who also lost his life in the line of duty.
