A 14-year-old class six pupil allegedly killed his schoolmate over Ugali and Kunde.
Following the killing, the class six learner is said to have dumped the body at River Simakina in Navakholo which is located in Kakamega County.
According to Navakholo OCPD Richard Omanga, the now-deceased 10-year-old pupil had been looking after their family’s cattle when his schoolmate suddenly attacked him and killed him.
The two pupils had been neighbours as well as attending the same school.
The Class Six pupil had just arrived home from school only to be informed that his neighbour had eaten food that had been intended for him.
The 14-year-old then followed his schoolmate and neighbour and hit him with a blunt object on his head, killing him on the spot before throwing him into river Simakina to cover his tracks.
On Friday, the young boy arrived at school and informed his teachers about what he had done.
He then led the teachers to where he had dumped the body where it was found in water.
According to the OCPD, the body has serious head injuries and was taken to Kakamega Referral and Hospital mortuary as further investigations are done on the incident.
