Allowances Teachers Will Earn During CBC Training
Teachers are set to earn allowances for undergoing Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) training.
According to sources, teachers who will participate in the exercise will earn allowances as follows.
CSO and CBC Champions Training
They will be given transport money as per the prevailing fares up to a maximum of Kshs. 1,000 for CSOs and 800 for champions.
The training institutions will provide the venues and meals at 10 o’clock (tea), 4 o’clock (tea), and lunch at a cost of Ksh. 400 per day for a duration of 3 days.
Allowance for Stationery will be at the rate of Kshs. 100 per participant.
Every participant shall receive Kshs. 3,000 daily subsistence allowance to cover accommodation for 4 days.
Teachers and Head Teachers Zonal Training
All teachers participating in the exercise shall be given Ksh. 400 per day to cater for travel expenses. This allowance shall at the end of the training session.
All CSOs participating in the exercise and CBC champions will be paid Ksh. 1,000 as facilitation allowance.
The host institution will provide lunch at the rate of Ksh. 400 per day for every participant and facilitator.
Stationery has been allocated Kshs. 100 per participant.
Regional Directors, County Directors, and Deputy County Directors
These senior officers will be entitled to an allowance of up to Ksh. 1500 at most and shall be paid for a period of 5 days.
Through which channel will they be paid?
All payments meant to cover allowances during the CBC training will be paid through bank or direct mobile transfer and not via cash.
There shall be no cash withdrawn to give participants and venues.
The funds will be distributed via bulk MPESA services as has been the case most of the time.
As a result, participants may be expected to give their Safaricom mobile phone numbers or bank account numbers, depending on the model that will be agreed on.
