2022 Jomo Kenyatta Foundation (JKF) KCPE Scholarships Opened For Applications
The Jomo Kenya Foundation (JKF) Scholarship program was opened since the year 1968 and is intended to improve access to education and transition through the provision of scholarships and mentorship to Kenyan students who are academically promising or those from poor vulnerable backgrounds in public secondary schools.
The scholarship pays for tuition and uniform according to the scholarship policy. Affirmative action is accorded priority during selection. This is in following with the Kenya Constitution.
Since its inception, more than 10,000 students have benefited from the scheme.
Among the institutions which partner with the JKF are
– East Africa Philanthropic Network
– Rotaract Club of Nairobi Central
– Ministry of Education
By this year (2022) it is expected that the number of beneficiaries will have reached 25 per county.
Who can apply?
Bright and academically promising needy students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria from all counties. Selection is done through a rigorous interview process by a panel comprising of the JKF staff, officials from the Ministry of Education, JKF Alumni and primary school headteachers.
Requirements for application
i) Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii) Sat for KCPE in March 2022 and obtained at least 350 marks and above
iii) Be a needy student or one from a disadvantaged background.
How to Apply
To apply you can do it physically or online through the JKF website. If you are applying physically you can download and print the form from the JKF website or obtain one from JKF offices in Nairobi’s Industrial Area or Kijabe Street OR County Education Offices in all Counties.
For any scholars eligible according to the above criteria with 250 marks and above, you can apply for a lunch program using the same form.
After completing the filling, send the form together with supporting documents to the address below by 13th April 2022. Those who will not have received any communication by 29th April 2022 should consider themselves unsuccessful in their application.
