This is the fourth time since the new minister is presiding over the releases of UNEB results.

Though we are yet to confirm the impact of the new minsters policies on the backdrop of a backlog of failures and new fractures.

SMS Option

The executive secretary Dan Odongo of UNEB has informed the public that they will be able to access students’ examination results via mobile phones as soon as they are released by sending a well-formatted SMS to 6600.

The SMS should look like PLE space Index number that is PLE 002222/010 and send it to 6600 on all networks, though it will cost the senders 500 across all networks.

The SMS service will make it possible for candidates to check access their results as soon as they are officially released by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The user should then receive his/her examination results or registration details instantly. Each SMS sent to 6600 is charged Shs 500.

therefore, users must ensure that they have enough credit on their phones. The SMS service is voluntary.

More so each SMS response message will contain information about only one candidate.

It should be noted that only the most recently released results will be available for access by this method for ten months from the date of their release.

The SMS service is complementary to the existing service delivery methods and is not intended to replace existing procedures and practices.

UNEB will continue to issue printed registers and results in examination centres.

Results sent on mobile phones are for quick information purposes.

Result slips and certificates will continue to be the only official proof and evidence of performance in the UNEB examinations.
